Serpentine Path - August 25-September 16, 2018
It all stblaarted when…
Serpentine Path is the inaugural exhibition at Terminal Creek Contemporary, curated by Patrik Andersson of Trapp Projects in collaboration with artist Kim Kennedy Austin. The exhibition features the work of sixteen artists whose work snakes a tenuous path within the square space of the gallery, transforming it into a visual and conceptual labyrinth.
The title of the exhibition is derived from a postcard produced in the 1920s by The Union Steamship Company of British Columbia. Throughout the 20th century, Bowen Island offered a nearby getaway from the hustle and bustle of the mainland. One could say that this has been Vancouver’s Island of La Grand Jatte, a relaxed setting for engaged artistic practices and critical dialogues.
Generously lending or making new work for this exhibition are Vikky Alexander, Kim Kennedy Austin, Ingrid Baxter (N.E. Thing Co.), Lyndl Hall, Jack Jeffrey, Andrew Kent, Ken Lum, Myfanwy MacLeod, Michael Morris, Ryan Quast, Kerri Reid, Sylvain Sailly, Dan Siney, Erica Stocking, Ron Terada and Neil Wedman.
Please join us for the opening of Serpentine Path on August 25th from 1-3 p.m. Several of the artists and curator, Patrik Andersson, will be in attendance.
